A new-build, single storey Animal Care Facility, located on the Brooksby Campus. The building provides new classrooms and practical teaching spaces to support the Colleges courses in exotic animal and insect husbandry
Key features, include:
- Predominately naturally ventilated - “mixed-mode” ventilation strategy to classrooms to minimise summertime overheating
- Air tightness and insulation better than Building Regulations
- Internal rooms feature “on-demand” mechanical ventilation with highly efficient heat recovery
- High efficiency LPG gas fired variable flow control heating system
- High efficiency lighting systems with daylight linking controls and occupancy absence detection
- Building management system for efficient control of heating and hot water systems
